The challenge of creating a Prayer Space

1. Ideas and first thoughts

We’re going to have a prayer space in the chapel area based on the Lord’s Prayer. Our bit is give us today our daily bread.

I feel really excited.
We get to raise the profile of prayer at the church.
We have themes to engage interest.
And, we have found this brilliant website put on by the good folk at Lambeth Palace which has some exciting ideas.

This is not my thing but even I think some of this stuff looks really good.

Wow, let’s go.

2.  So the plan is…

Well, it’s quite simple really.
We have a display to put up in the church for a week.
We call it a prayer space.
In it are some displays or objects or pictures or ideas that stimulate us to pray.

Hopefully we will be led into discovering different approaches to prayer. So we can be encouraged and enriched.

After all we all want to pray better… Don’t we?
Of course…?
Don’t we?

And we all want to find new, better, encouraging ways to pray. We are all open minded here…
Aren’t we?

Well at least we all want to visit a pray space. Don’t we?

Easy!

3.  Excitement

Ok we’ve got into our second week now. Both great and each very different.

We’ve thought about God as our Father.
Lots of hints to provoke my thoughts and encourage my prayers.
